The Spanish driver will make his single-seater debut next January. Josep Maria Martí will participate in the United Arab Emirates Formula 4 with Xcel Motorsport.
After ending his time as a karting driver this year, the Spanish Pepe Martí will make the leap to single-seater categories in 2021. As part of his career progression, Martí will participate in Formula 4 UAE at the beginning of the year. In this Championship he will compete his first formula races and will gain experience in order to continue improving and growing as a driver.
Formula 4 in the United Arab Emirates is one of the most competitive winter Championships for young talents. It allows to obtain a competitive background and a key race experience in order to arrive more prepared at the start of the season in a European Championship. With the aim of being competitive since the very start, Martí will drive for the Xcel Motorsport team, champion in 2020 and 2019.
The season will consist of five rounds with four races each. The Championship will visit two world-class venues, the Dubai Autodrome and the Yas Marina Circuit, home to the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix.
The challenge that Martí will face will be highly demanding, since the five events that make up the calendar will be competed continuously and without a break throughout five consecutive weekends. The season will begin on January 14th in Dubai and will end on February 13th at the same circuit.
Martí will seek to make a good start in his career of single-seaters. Participating in Formula 4 UAE will be a great opportunity to continue progressing and growing as a driver. The learning gained in this Championship will help him face the rest of 2021 with greater preparation and better opportunities.
