Martí finishes his debut season in Formula 2 with a victory and more points.

Pepe achieved his first victory in the category and concludes the season with a solid weekend.

The Spanish driver will continue in Formula 2 in 2025, with his sights set on scoring more points with the experience gained this season.

"Overall, it’s been a very positive weekend, especially considering all the challenges we’ve faced this season. We knew we had the pace, and in the end, we’ve managed to complete a perfect weekend."

Pepe Martí finishes his first season in Formula 2 with a remarkable weekend at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi. The 19-year-old Spanish driver showcased all his talent with a brilliant victory in Saturday's sprint race and a solid sixth place in Sunday's feature race, adding 8 more points to cap off the 2024 season.

In Saturday's race, Martí started from fourth place, and after a great launch, he managed to take the lead from the first sector and maintain his advantage until the end. “I was able to do the race I wanted, and everything went perfectly,” he stated after crossing the line with a 13-second lead over third place.

In Sunday's feature race, starting on hard tyres, Martí once again impressed with a great start and intelligent driving, taking him to finish in sixth place. This result reinforces the positive balance of a season in which Martí, as a rookie, has learned to compete at the highest level in such a demanding category as FIA F2.

“I’m very happy because it was another decent race in which we added 8 points and moved up positions in the championship, finishing in 14th place. Overall, it was a very positive weekend, especially considering all the phases we've gone through this season. We knew we had speed, and we’ve finally managed to complete a perfect weekend,” he comments.

“On Friday, we did a respectable qualifying, yesterday we won with a great performance, and today we finished in an appropriate position given the situation we had. We struggled quite a bit with the hard tyres. I had to fight a lot with the drivers on the medium tyre, especially after a good start that put me in a very competitive group with that compound. The hard tyre degradation made things more difficult before the first pit stop, but we managed to hold on until the end.”

Martí, who made his debut this year with the Red Bull Junior Team under Campos Racing, has stood out with a total of four podiums: third and second in the season opener in Bahrain, second in Spielberg, and his first win in Abu Dhabi. This first year has helped consolidate his confidence and lay the groundwork for a 2025 where he hopes his debutant experience will allow him to regularly fight for podiums and get closer to the top positions in the championship.

“I hope that next year we can continue to grow and fight for good results. I want to thank the Campos Racing team and the Red Bull Junior Team for all the work we've done together this season,” he concludes.
